This Community Call will focus on models for implementing open access policies. OA policy implementation can be resource intensive, often requiring a significant investment in infrastructure and workflows in order to effectively identify and gather content, make it accessible, and promote its use. The issues involved in implementing an OA policy can include instituting or choosing a repository, collaborating with other institutional entities and stakeholders, conducting outreach about the newly adopted policy, and developing an assessment plan and key success indicators. This community discussion will focus on questions and provide opportunities to share best practices or challenges with participants at various stages of OA policy implementation.
The format of the COAPI Community Calls is modeled on SPARC's OpenCon librarian community calls, which seek to create a supportive environment where challenges can be candidly shared and everyone present is encouraged to participate in and shape the discussion.
